Sunday

Interim Pastor

We are glad to have Wendy Nave, CLP as our Interim Pastor. Wendy has served churches in our area since 1990. She comes to us from Presbyterian Pan American School where she served as Chaplain after previously serving as Interim at Jackson Woods Presbyterian Church in Corpus Christi. Having now completed both sections of Interim Ministry Training and 7 years of Family Systems Theory Classes, she is well prepared to shepherd us as we continue our search for a new Installed Pastor. Wendy and her husband and three children reside near Kingsville.

Seeking a Pastor

We have begun the process of calling a new Pastor. Our Pastor Nominating Committee members are:  Mike Day, Debbie Salinas, Julie Hale, Dean Kruckenburg, and Tom Young.  Our "CIF" (Church Information Form) has been completed and approved by the Session and the COM.   It is now available via the appropriate internet sites to candidates seeking a ministry opportunity in a setting such as ours.

By way of information, our church currently has about 100 active members and an average Sunday attendance of about 65. Our Sanctuary is considered by many  to be one of the most beautiful in our area. This is due in large part to our stained glass windows and its architectural features. Our congregation is very open to visitors and new members. Our music program, lead by Dean and Marsha Kruckenberg, is clearly outstanding for a church our size.

The City of Alice is located two hours south of San Antonio (about 1/2 way to the Rio Grande Valley) and 45 minutes west of Corpus Christi. Situated at the crossroads of U. S. Highway 281 and Texas Highway 44, the City is highly impacted by the oil & gas exploration and production industry as well as farming and ranching. Other industries such as healthcare and the manufacturing and repair facilities associated with the oilfield activity are a significant presence in our community.

Recreational opportunities ranging from hunting and fishing to sporting events and local festivals occur around the area most weekends of the year. In addition to local cultural opportunities, nearby Corpus Christi provides many opportunities for arts and artist events.

If you are a Pastor seeking an opportunity to serve in the South Texas area, we'd like to hear from you. Please forward your PIF to fpcalice@sbcglobal.net.

Outreach Committee

Our Church greatly supports the FOOD PANTRY of Alice.  We invite you to bring Canned Beans, Peas & Corn for the month of July.  There is a box in the back of the church marked FOOD PANTRY.  Please remember others when you do your grocery shopping.
